Receive expert advice from Trading Standards

Visitors and exhibitors at Harrogate International Nursery Fair are invited to come and speak to representatives of Nottinghamshire Trading Standards which has partnered up with the Baby Products Association.

This partnership provides an Assured Advice Scheme, which means that companies can receive advice about their products’ safety, for example; whether it meets the requirements of the relevant safety standard with an interpretation of these if required provided by the Nottingham division and which will be upheld by Trading Standards departments in England and Wales, and also in court.

Julie Milne of the trade association, explains: “This a part of the Association’s Primary Authority Partnership and visitors and exhibitors can ask advice about standardisation or regulatory issues they may have – and this is across the whole range of child care articles. For Association members, this advice can be given as Assured Advice which is published on the Trading Standards Information Hub and publicly accessible. Once published, it cannot be contradicted by other Trading Standards offices or officers and can be used to demonstrate a company’s due diligence or even in its defence in court should it be required.”

Trading Standards Officers will be available on the Baby Products Association’s Stand Q109 –

Sunday 25th March from 11am to 5pm – Chris ElgeniaMonday

26th March from 10am to 4pm – Tim Watson

For more information or to book a specific appointment contact Julie Milne – julie@b-p-a.org or call 0845 456 9570.
